Hello,
My name is Wesley Underwood. I am a 22 year veteran of the Santa Rosa County School system. I am a proud educator who believes there is no greater calling than educating the youth of America. I graduated from Pace High School in 1992 and attended the University of West Florida where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Science Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. I am married with two children. My wife, Lisa, is a 5th grade teacher at East Milton Elementary, my son Zachary is 27 years old and my daughter Lyla is 16. Over my 22 year career in education I taught 6th – 8th grade intensive math, intensive reading and intensive writing, dropout prevention, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Integrated Science. I served as a Dean of Students at Navarre High School, Assistant Principal at Navarre High School on two different occasions, Coordinator of Mathematics and Science for Santa Rosa County, Principal of Hobbs Middle School and now the Assistant Principal of Jay High School where I plan to stay for a long time. I also coached many sports: Cross Country, Football, Basketball, Softball, and Baseball. I am so very proud to call myself a Jay High School ROYAL. I look forward to continuing to work with the stakeholders of the Jay community to help continue the excellence that has been established at Jay High School!
