announcements:
Due to the significant increase of Covid cases in our area, we are respectfully asking guests to our sporting events to wear a mask when they are out of their seats. This is our way of helping limit exposure and showing respect towards others. Students attending an on-campus activity are always required to wear masks, unless they social distance themselves in the student section. If they are sitting with their family, then the same expectation applies, please wear your mask when you are not seated. Thank you – Mr. Knowlton, Principal JHS
Congratulations to Mrs. Suszanne Brown, JHS Non-Instructional Employee of the Year!
Now through My School Bucks, parents can purchase lockers, request/pay for transcripts, and make JHS cheerleading payments using your debit or credit cards. We will be adding more payment options throughout the school year.
Congratulations to Mr. Desi Lee, JHS Teacher of the Year 2020-2021!
Dear Parents,
Students will be required to wear a facial covering (mask) upon returning to school on August 24th. The mask must be worn on the bus and while on the school campus. Please ensure that your student's facial covering covers the nose and mouth and is one that your student can wear the entire day with comfort. All facial coverings must meet the guidelines covered in the school dress code.
Thank you, Jay High School Administration
Dear Digital Remote Learning Parents,
Please make sure you know your student's Student ID number. This is the number that begin with 57. We commonly call this number the Five, Seven number. You will need the 5, 7 number and the student's password to navigate the remote learning platform. You will also need to download the MS Teams app. All of this information will be covered at the required Remote Learning workshop. The date and time for this workshop will be posted here tomorrow, sent out via Facebook, and via call-out.

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires that school districts provide parents with an annual state, district, and school status reports to include but not limited to the following: student achievement, accountability and subgroup data.
Florida’s EDStats tool provides a robust data reporting portal that FDOE will use to provide information to parents and the public about the performance of subgroups in the school grades system and for many other performance metrics (https://edstats.fldoe.org). In addition, the FDOE uses data to produce readily accessible school and district report cards, providing transparent information to all stakeholders. The district report card specifically reports on progress toward transitioning students from one level (elementary, middle, high) to the next and also reports graduation data. (https://edudata.fldoe.org/index.html).
JHS Safety Announcement: The district has recently installed an access control door lock and camera system at our front entrance. Effective January 7, 2019, the front entrance will no longer be open during the school day. When you approach the front entrance, you will need to push a button located to the right side of the entryway next to the mounted camera. You will be greeted by a school employee, asked to present a photo ID to the camera, and state the purpose of your visit. Once approved, the door will then be unlocked, and you will be permitted access into the building. We ask for your patience and understanding concerning this new protocol, as our number one goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff members. If you have any questions, please call the school at 675-4507.
